Elsewhere, she developed the Caesars Creek, Sweet Home, Curiosity Shop, and Witchy Women of Coven Grove mysteries, each organized around a distinctive small community or workplace. A Hot Spot of Murder represents the club books particularly well because its central problem removes one member from the usual team and asks the others to act. It was first issued in 2017, with a later 2021 edition published under Barker’s own name.
