Cori Doerrfeld creates children's books as an author and illustrator, using expressive pictures to make emotional changes visible to younger readers. Believe Your Eyes launches the Cici: A Fairy's Tale graphic-novel series, written and illustrated by Doerrfeld with additional illustration by Tyler Page. Graphic Universe released the full-color 48-page book in 2016 for readers roughly seven to eleven. Ten-year-old Cici wakes with fairy wings and discovers that her unusual sight turns family feelings into visual transformations, from extra arms to protective shells. Cici's choice about keeping her powers runs alongside changes at home, friendship pressures, and guidance from her abuela. Doerrfeld and Page continued the sequence with Truth in Sight and A Perfect View. The collaboration gives dialogue, page layout, and cartoon reactions equal storytelling weight. Doerrfeld later drew wide recognition through The Rabbit Listened, but Believe Your Eyes already shows her characteristic attention to children processing uncertainty through images, attentive companionship, and choices they can understand.
