Courtney Hunt

Courtney Hunt builds comic complications and recurring communities around working women. Her contemporary romances include Forever a Bridesmaid, which begins the Always a Bridesmaid sequence and centers on Erin, a professional bridesmaid whose expertise in other people's ceremonies does not make her own romantic choices simple. Matthew provides the central relationship, while Lauren and Erin's brother Dylan connect the opening book to later installments. Hunt has explained that the series idea grew from a conversation with her sister, a bridal makeup artist, about the real occupation of professional bridesmaids. Once a Bridesmaid continues with Lauren, extending the premise beyond a single couple. Hunt also created the monthly Cupid's Coffeeshop stories and wrote the time-slip novel The Lost Art of Second Chances. Forever a Bridesmaid reflects her characteristic interest in jobs that create unusual routes into romance, using the ceremony business to contrast polished public occasions with private uncertainty.
