David Handler

This is not Daniel Handler, who writes as Lemony Snicket, and not Chelsea Handler either. David Handler writes the Stewart Hoag mysteries, in which a novelist with one hit and a serious drinking problem ghostwrites celebrity memoirs and keeps finding bodies, accompanied by a basset hound called Lulu with firm views about everything. The Man Who Would Be F. Scott Fitzgerald won an Edgar. He reported in New York before the fiction, revived the series after a long gap, and titles every book as a variation on the same joke.
