Debbie Harry

Face It runs from the New York of the middle seventies and the CBGB years to the point where a band mixing punk, disco and hip hop became about as big as a band could get. Harry had been a Playboy Bunny and a waitress at Max's Kansas City before any of it, went through years of addiction in the eighties, and nursed Chris Stein through a rare autoimmune disease that ended Blondie's first run. She writes well about being looked at constantly and about how little of that was ever hers to control. She was thirty-three when Parallel Lines came out, which the industry considered old.
