Born in Memphis, she describes writing as a lifelong interest and draws on a strong enthusiasm for film, television, and popular culture. Falling For the Mark, published in 2023, was her fiction debut. The novel follows Maya and her mother Nicole, an experienced confidence team whose plan targets a wealthy doctor, until Maya develops feelings for his skeptical daughter Kennedy. Davis has explained that the premise grew from her interest in morally complicated protagonists and the mother-and-daughter scheme in the film Heartbreakers.
