Edgar Lee Masters

Edgar Lee Masters (1868-1950) was an American poet, biographer, and lawyer, born in Kansas and raised in Illinois. He practiced law in Chicago, once partnering with Clarence Darrow, before Spoon River Anthology made him famous in 1915. He wrote many later books but never matched that success.
