Eliza Jane Brazier

If I Disappear follows a woman who becomes convinced that the host of a true-crime podcast has gone missing, and drives to the remote California ranch the host described, and the book is at least as interested in the listener as in the missing woman. Good Rich People puts a wealthy couple in the habit of inviting tenants into their guest house and playing games with them. Brazier wrote for television and has lived in Britain and California, and the recurring subject is what people will do to get close to money.
