Elizabeth Massie is an American writer of horror, historical fiction, media tie-ins, short stories, poetry, and nonfiction. Her work has received two Bram Stoker Awards and a Scribe Award, and her bibliography includes Sineater, Wire Mesh Mothers, Homeplace, Versailles, and fiction connected with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dark Shadows. Naked, on the Edge is a 2012 collection of supernatural and psychological stories, preceded by a poem written for the volume. The pieces examine people pressed toward difficult choices by isolation, grief, anger, poverty, fear, and regret. Rather than relying on one continuous plot, the collection moves among sharply different lives and forms of unease.
