Foolish Hearts opens at the last party of the summer, where Claudia overhears a conversation she was not meant to hear, lands on the wrong side of the girl involved, and then finds herself cast alongside her in a school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Henry Holt published it in December 2017. Emma Mills wrote it while finishing a doctorate in cell biology, having signed with her agent, Bridget Smith, in 2013, the same summer she began graduate work in biomedical research. First & Then, This Adventure Ends, Famous in a Small Town and Lucky Caller sit around it. She lives in St. Louis.
