Eric Berger

Berger covers spaceflight for Ars Technica and spent years as the meteorologist and science writer at the Houston Chronicle, which is how he came to know the Johnson Space Center crowd well enough to get them talking. Liftoff reconstructs SpaceX from the first three failed launches at Kwajalein to the one that worked, built on interviews with the engineers rather than with the founder. Reentry carries it into the Falcon 9 and Starship years. He is among the few reporters the industry both trusts and complains about.
