Erin Kelly, born in London in 1976, has been a freelance journalist since 1998, writing for the Guardian, the Sunday Times, the Daily Mail, Elle and Cosmopolitan. Her first novel, The Poison Tree, came out in 2010 and reached ITV as a drama in 2012; the following year she wrote the novel of Broadchurch, Chris Chibnall's television series. He Said/She Said, published in 2017, begins at a Cornish festival held for the total eclipse of 1999, where Laura comes upon an attack and calls the police. The evidence she and Kit give secures a conviction, and fifteen years on the couple are living under changed names and expecting twins, still shaped by it. The book was a Sunday Times bestseller and a Richard and Judy pick, and was longlisted for the Theakston's Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award. Kelly has taught on the Curtis Brown Creative course.
