Gregory Ashe

Gregory Ashe teaches and writes in the American Midwest, creating interconnected mysteries with recurring investigators and evolving family relationships. Father Complex is the fourth Hazard and Somerset: Arrows in the Hand novel, published in 2022. It returns to Emery Hazard and John-Henry Somerset as a criminal investigation intersects with the pressures surrounding their foster son Colt and his estranged parent. This installment sits within a much larger Hazard and Somerset continuity that begins with Pretty Pretty Boys and follows the detectives through several linked sequences. Ashe has also created the Borealis Investigations, Hollow Folk, First Quarto, and Lamb and the Lion series, and he has collaborated with C.S. Poe. His fiction combines puzzle construction with sustained character development, allowing professional cases to affect friendships, partnerships, and chosen family across multiple books. Father Complex can stand alone as a mystery while also extending one of Ashe’s longest-running fictional worlds.
