California's Central Valley raised Hayley Faiman, who married her high school sweetheart and moved with him to Oregon during his Coast Guard service, then to Texas for about a decade and later to North Carolina. She has independently published dozens of dark contemporary romances since 2015, among them the Notorious Devils MC, Savage Beast MC, Zanetti Famiglia and Russian Torpedo sequences. Pitching for Amalie opened Men of Baseball in March 2015. Protected by the Badman and Betrothed to the Badman are the sixth and eighth of the eleven Russian Bratva novels; the second of those pairs Devyn O'Neil, daughter of an Irish crime family, with Timofei Vetrov, son of the Bratva leader in New York. Rough and Ready, from 2017, is the fifth of the seven Notorious Devils books, a motorcycle-club romance series.
