Hesh Kestin
Hesh Kestin brought two decades of foreign-correspondent experience to fiction about international power and crisis. He reported from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and served as Forbes's London-based European correspondent. The Siege of Tel Aviv is a near-future political thriller that imagines Israel facing a coordinated regional invasion and an improvised defense organized from Tel Aviv. Kestin has connected the premise to his experience during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Dzanc Books published the novel in 2019, then withdrew it after public criticism; a Shoeshine Press edition followed. That unusual publication history became part of the book's reception, while Kestin's reporting background informs its emphasis on military planning, diplomacy, and institutional response.
