Hillary Carlip
Hillary Carlip works as an author, visual artist, designer, and creator of projects that combine narrative with popular culture. Find Me I’m Yours centers on Mags Marclay, a Los Angeles artist whose search for connection expands beyond the printed novel into a network of fictional websites, videos, and other media. Carlip conceived the work as an interactive Storyverse, designing its visual and digital extensions as part of the same narrative world. RosettaBooks released the 2014 book, while Carlip’s broader career includes memoir, collaborative books, graphic work, and explorations of everyday American identity. Her earlier titles include Girl Power, Zine Scene, Queen of the Oddballs, and A La Cart, all of which reflect an interest in self-presentation and unconventional voices. Find Me I’m Yours brings those interests into fiction by letting readers encounter Mags through both her story and the online traces surrounding it. The result treats design and digital participation as elements of characterization rather than detached promotional extras.
