Isla Elrick

Isla Elrick writes Gothic-inflected fantasy shaped by folklore, romance, and ruined worlds. Dragon’s Secret begins her Everwinter trilogy in Norðurey, where Magdelne leaves the High College of Magi to seek instruction from an exiled wizard amid an unnatural, unending winter. Dragon’s Token continues that sequence as the newly appointed senior mage harbors the escaped dragon Epiphron, is abducted by his former master, and is used as bait while Epiphron may attempt her rescue. Elrick identifies Icelandic mythology as a foundation for the series and uses dragons, old technology, and a post-cataclysmic society to give its setting a distinctive history. LIFE-IN-DEATH Press issued Dragon’s Secret in February 2023, while Larks & Katydids issued Dragon’s Token in April 2023.
