Jack Kelly (1927–1992) was an American film and television actor best known for his role as Bart Maverick in the popular television series “Maverick”. The show aired on ABC from 1957 to 1962. Kelly shared the lead role with other actors, including James Garner as Bret Maverick and Roger Moore as Beau Maverick. In the fifth season, Kelly became the sole Maverick. Beyond his acting career, Jack Kelly also had a stint in politics. Born in New York City, Kelly came from a prominent theatrical family, and his mother, Ann “Nan” Kelly, was a popular stage actress. He served as a weather observer in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and even flew on the first B-29 to fly over the Arctic Circle.
