The Book of Dragons is an anthology, and Jonathan Strahan edited it rather than wrote it. Harper Voyager brought it out in 2020 with new stories and poems from Garth Nix, Ann Leckie, Ken Liu, Jo Walton, Kelly Barnhill, Zen Cho, Daniel Abraham and others, and Rovina Cai's illustrations running through. Strahan works from Perth in Western Australia and has spent three decades assembling books like it: The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year ran for thirteen volumes, and he has edited or co-edited more than seventy anthologies. He is reviews editor at Locus, has won the World Fantasy Award and multiple Hugos in the editing categories, and co-hosts the Coode Street Podcast with Gary K. Wolfe.
