Julianne MacLean
Julianne MacLean is a Canadian novelist known for historical and contemporary romance, family drama, and emotionally focused stories of reinvention. She has written more than forty novels, including the Color of Heaven series, and her work has reached readers internationally in many languages. Released in 2021, These Tangled Vines stands alone as a novel set largely in Tuscany. It follows Fiona Bell after she learns that her biological father has died and left her an unexpected inheritance, a revelation that brings her into conflict with half siblings who never knew she existed. The vineyard setting supports a story about parentage, secrecy, loyalty, and the consequences of choices carried across generations. MacLean links Fiona's present discoveries with the history of her mother and the man who owned the estate, gradually shifting the book from an inheritance mystery toward a study of complicated family love. The novel's film rights were later optioned, extending its life beyond the page.
