Kasey Goldstraw

Kasey Goldstraw is a Canadian writer whose debut novel combines romantic comedy with a coming-of-age story set in 1990s West Vancouver. Archibald Full Frontal follows Archie, a young man navigating family expectations, friendship, attraction, and the awkwardness of becoming more independent. The 2018 edition came from Iguana Books. Goldstraw spent her childhood in Vancouver, studied English at the University of British Columbia, and moved to Toronto, where she operated a yoga studio. Those connections to both coasts of Canadian urban life provide useful context for a story attentive to social circles, neighbourhood identity, and the gap between confidence and uncertainty. Archibald Full Frontal uses humour to keep Archie's mistakes visible without reducing him to them. As a first novel, it introduces Goldstraw's interest in characters learning how public performance differs from emotional honesty, especially when friendship and romance demand decisions that cannot be postponed.
