Broken Beauty opens the Titan Falls duet, a dark romance set on an American college campus and finished by Loyal Vows, with a prequel, Cruel Promise, numbered ahead of it. Allison had been publishing for ten years by then. Her first book, the young adult paranormal romance Dark Souls, appeared in 2013, and later series include Briarcliff Society, Thorne of Winthorpe Academy and the Cimmerian Court duet. She reserves a second byline for her contemporary love stories, which come out as S.K. Allison. She has said she grew up between Canada and Australia and went to New York for law school, spending rather more of it writing than studying.
