Luigi Pirandello

Luigi Pirandello (1867-1936) was an Italian dramatist, novelist and short-story writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1934. His plays repeatedly probe the instability of identity and the gap between mask and self, and they helped set the course of twentieth-century theatre.
