Martin H. Greenberg was a prolific American anthology editor who helped organize hundreds of collections across science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and related genres. Give Me Liberty, co-edited with Mark Tier, gathers speculative stories concerned with political freedom, limited government, and resistance to concentrated authority. Baen Books identifies both editors and presents the anthology as a set of contrasting fictional explorations rather than a single-author argument. Greenberg's career was notably collaborative. He worked extensively with Isaac Asimov, Charles G. Waugh, Jane Yolen, Robert Silverberg, and many other editors and writers, often building themed collections that made established and overlooked stories available together. Give Me Liberty and its companion Visions of Liberty received Prometheus Special Awards for Greenberg and Tier in 2005. The volume therefore represents both Greenberg's editorial method and his broader role in shaping genre reading through carefully framed, subject-based anthologies.
