Phillip Margolin

Phillip Margolin turns decades of courtroom experience into tightly plotted legal suspense. He previously practiced as a criminal defense attorney, and that experience informs the professional choices and procedural pressure in his novels. The Perfect Alibi is the second Robin Lockwood mystery, published by Minotaur Books. It gives the Portland lawyer two difficult cases whose evidence and apparent timelines resist easy answers. Macmillan's series history places the novel between The Third Victim and A Reasonable Doubt, making it part of a continuing portrait of Lockwood as both advocate and investigator. Manuscripts and publishing material from his wider career in legal thrillers are held by the University of Iowa.
