Robert Iger
Iger began as a television weatherman and a studio floor worker at ABC, and ran the Walt Disney Company from 2005 to 2020. Across that stretch he bought Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and most of Twenty-First Century Fox, and launched the streaming service, roughly quintupling what the company was worth. The Ride of a Lifetime tells that story on his own terms, including the Pixar negotiation and his friendship with Steve Jobs. He came back as chief executive in 2022 after his chosen successor lasted under a year, an unusually public failure of succession planning.
