Sir Edward Tyas Cook (1857-1919) was an English journalist and biographer who edited the Pall Mall Gazette, launched the Westminster Gazette as its first editor in 1893, and later edited the Daily News. With Alexander Wedderburn he compiled the 39-volume library edition of John Ruskin's works, published between 1903 and 1912 and still the standard collection, and wrote the accompanying Ruskin biography. He was knighted in 1912 and served in the government press bureau during the First World War.
