T. D. McKinney

T. D. McKinney writes romance shaped by the landscapes and communities of the American South. Raised on the Gulf Coast, she has also worked as an artist and web designer, interests reflected in a varied bibliography that ranges across contemporary, historical, and speculative settings. Copperhead Road is the third Southern Beaus story and was written with Terry Wylis. Set around Bay Mignon, it reunites Cameron Fontaine with Bolt Truitt after a separation of fifteen years. The town remembers Bolt through his family’s reputation, while Cameron holds a more complicated understanding of the man he knew. That contrast gives the story its central tension: affection survives, but trust must contend with secrecy and the weight of local judgment. The series connection places Copperhead Road after The Wolfe Proxy and before Tensaw Blues. McKinney’s regional background helps explain the book’s attention to Gulf Coast culture, close communities, and histories that remain difficult to escape.
