Thanhha Lai, born Lại T. Thanh Hà on January 1, 1965, is a Vietnamese-American writer of children’s literature. Her debut novel, “Inside Out & Back Again,” received critical acclaim and won both the National Book Award for Young People’s Literature and a Newbery Honor. Lai’s ability to convey raw emotions through precise words resonates deeply with readers. She currently lives in Croton-on-Hudson, New York.
