A Court of Thorns and Roses is the first book in Sarah J Maas’s bestselling fantasy romance series, often called ACOTAR by its enormous fan base. Feyre, a young woman who hunts to feed her family, kills the wrong creature in the woods and is taken into the dangerous Faerie courts as payment.

The book mixes Beauty and the Beast retelling with Maas’s particular brand of fantasy world building. Adult readers should know the later volumes get explicit.
