An Essay on War, in Blank Verse is an 1803 poetry collection by Nathaniel Bloomfield, the English rural poet and elder brother of the better-known peasant-poet Robert Bloomfield. Written from the standpoint of a working countryman, the verse reflects on war and rural life in the plain manner of the laboring-class poets who found readers in the early nineteenth century. The book is a sample of English peasant-poet literature. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
