About this book

Bad Feminist is Roxane Gay's essay collection on feminism, race, body, culture, and her own contradictions. The title essay names the feeling of caring deeply about feminism while loving the music and movies that supposedly betray those values. Gay writes with humor and bite. One of the most readable books in this lane.

About the author

Roxane Gay

Bad Feminist made room for the position that you can hold the politics and still like things the politics disapproves of, and it landed because it refused the purity test rather than passing it.
