The book moves the series from survival story toward outright revolution. The film adaptation was widely praised, but the novel is sharper and worth reading on its own terms.

Suzanne Collins (born 10 August 1962) is an American author and television writer, best known for the young adult dystopian series The Hunger Games. She also wrote the children's fantasy series The Underland Chronicles. Her book The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes returns to the world of Panem.
