About this book
A piece on Christ in Christ, Christianity and the Bible takes as its text Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is God (Matthew 9:17). The world has accepted Jesus Christ as a good man, and the evidences of his goodness are said to be manifold, for he was full of compassion. The text says some who call Jesus Christ a good man with equal insistence deny that he was Almighty God.
The text says Christianity met the needs of men who, standing above their dead, asked again the old and oft-repeated question of Job, If a man die, shall he live again. Readers are told to read the thirty-eighth and thirty-ninth chapters, which record the highest reaches of human language. The text says the Almighty answers the complaining Job not out of the midst of a deep, unbroken calm, but out of the whirlwind.
