Christ Crucified, the Sum and Substance of the Scriptures is a sermon by Rowland Hill (1744-1833), the popular and eccentric English evangelical preacher who drew enormous crowds at Surrey Chapel in London. Famous for his wit in the pulpit, Hill preached a plain gospel of the cross to all classes. He was an early supporter of vaccination and Sunday schools.
