Death of a Dentist is a mystery novel by M.C. Beaton, published in 1997. This is the thirteenth installment in the Hamish Macbeth series and features the eponymous Scottish police officer investigating the death of Frederick Gilchrist, a dentist who was found dead in his examination chair. Combining humor, suspense, and a charming cast of characters this is a delightful read. Beaton’s writing is entertaining and humorous with vivid descriptions of Scotland’s countryside.
