Death of a Hussy

M.C. Beaton wrote a mystery novel titled “Death of a Hussy”, published in 1990. This book is the fifth installment in the Hamish Macbeth series and features the eponymous Scottish police officer investigating the death of Maggie Baird, a wealthy woman who has invited four of her previous lovers to her home in Lochdubh for a holiday and informs them that she will marry one of them. Maggie’s death at first appears to be an unfortunate accident, but Hamish Macbeth has his doubts. it’s a delightful read that combines humor, suspense, and a charming cast of characters.
