About this book

Henry Brooks Adams' political book "Democracy: An American Novel" was released under the name in 1880. Madeleine Lee, the main character, is a widow who relocates to Washington to be near the political center. The topics of political power—acquisition, utilization, and abuse—are examined throughout the book.
