About this book
The treatise presents the prevention and cure of diseases through regimen and simple medicines, with an appendix containing a dispensatory intended for private practitioners. The discussion of urinary incontinence distinguishes involuntary passage by drops from diabetes and says that the quantity of urine does not exceed the usual amount. The account attributes the condition to relaxation of the bladder's sphincter and says that the condition is often an effect of palsy.
The index lists regular meal times, gradual changes of diet and the injurious effects of long fasting on old and young people. The proposal concerning inoculation argues that a small payment enabling mothers to attend their children during the disease would provide sufficient inducement.
