About this book

Young solicitor Jonathan Harker travels to a crumbling castle in the Carpathians to help a mysterious client buy property in England, and slowly realizes his host, Count Dracula, is something far older and hungrier than a man. When the Count reaches English shores, a strange wasting sickness spreads, and a small band led by the vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing must piece the horror together before it consumes them. Stoker builds dread out of maps, train timetables, and blood, driving a chase that runs from Whitby back to Transylvania.

Bram Stoker

Bram Stoker (1847-1912) was an Irish writer and, for nearly three decades, business manager of London's Lyceum Theatre. Though he wrote several novels and short-story collections, his reputation rests entirely on Dracula, whose blend of folklore, travelogue, and Victorian dread has never gone out of print.
