Experimental Researches in Electricity

Michael Faraday gathered here the record of the patient bench experiments through which he uncovered many of the basic laws of electricity and magnetism. Working largely without mathematics, he reports his discovery of electromagnetic induction, the principles of electrolysis, and the idea of lines of force that would later underpin field theory. What makes the book remarkable is its method: each claim rests on an experiment described plainly enough for anyone to follow or repeat. It offers a rare look at one of history’s greatest experimentalists thinking on the page. This edition collects his foundational electrical researches. Free to download as a PDF or EPUB.
