About this book
Guatemala, The Land of the Quetzal is a sketch by William T. Brigham. The writer says that the pages were written to collect for his own use, and print for the use of others, notes made during three journeys in Guatemala and Honduras. The writer says he does not pretend to offer a monograph on Guatemala, yet seeks, with perhaps more ambition, to awaken among Americans greater interest in the much-neglected regions between the Republic of Mexico and the Isthmus of Darien.
The party passes through San Jacinto about dusk and camps a few miles beyond. At Vado Hondo the party can resist the tempting river no longer and has a delightful swim in the clear, cool water. A list of works includes Cockburn, John, A Journey over Land from the Gulf of Honduras to the Great South Sea.
