About this book
Judy of York Hill is by Ethel Hume Bennett, with illustrations by Harold Cue. The book is affectionately dedicated to those who learned, in the old school, verses that begin "To set the cause above renown", and the name Henry Newbolt follows them. The contents list chapter titles such as, among others, Beginnings, Dressing Up and A Supper Party.
Judith is introduced to Josephine Burley and to Jane Fenton. The prefects face the difficult question of the culprit's punishment, and Esther wants a special house meeting called at which Genevieve and her ways could be denounced. Judith asks Peggy where she got such old-fashioned wall-paper, and Peggy answers that Miss Ashwell found it in one of the shops.
