Last Train to Clarkdale

Last Train to Clarkdale is a lovely young adult novel by Deirdre O’Dare. The protagonist, Clay, is a misfit who was often the target of bullying during his school years. His consolation was found in his interactions with the railroad and its workers in his small hometown, which eventually led him to a career in the industry, albeit not on the tracks.
