Lessons in Life is a collection of moral essays by Josiah Gilbert Holland (1819-1881), writing under the pen name Timothy Titcomb. Holland was a hugely popular American author and a founding editor of Scribner’s Monthly, and his earnest, practical counsel on conduct and character sold by the hundred thousand.
