About this book

Young Myles Falworth is only a boy when his blind, disgraced father loses everything, accused of treason in the reign of Henry IV. Sent away to train as a squire in the household of the Earl of Mackworth, Myles endures the rough discipline of the tiltyard, learns the craft of arms, and grows into a knight determined to clear his family's name. Howard Pyle carries him through friendships, feuds, and a final trial by combat that decides the honor of the Falworths. Written for younger readers in 1891, it remains one of the finest of the old knightly adventures, told with Pyle's sure feel for medieval detail.
