Model aeroplanes is a book by F. J. Camm with 190 illustrations. The editor's preface calls the book a practical handbook on the principles, constructional details and methods of building model aeroplanes. The preface says the book deals with every part of a machine and describes a number of different types, including monoplanes, biplanes, collapsible machines, tractor monoplanes, hydro-monoplanes, aeroplanes driven by compressed air, etc., etc.
The preface says the concluding chapter explains how to build a model airship. A section headed Flying the Model advises choosing a large open space clear of trees and giving about 100 turns on the propellers in order to adjust the elevator. The text says the elevator should never be at a greater angle than 8° or less than 5°. The text also describes another simple form of box kite, made from four strips of straight grained wood (preferably spruce).
