My Daily Meditation for the Circling Year is a year-long collection of daily devotional readings by John Henry Jowett (1864-1923), the English Congregationalist preacher who was one of the most influential pulpit voices of the early twentieth century in both Britain and the United States. Jowett served at Carrs Lane Chapel in Birmingham, at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York from 1911 to 1918, and at Westminster Chapel in London from 1918 to 1922. He was a moderator of the National Free Church Council and a noted writer on the work of Christian ministry. The book provides a short devotional reading for each day of the year, drawing on biblical passages and on the themes of his preaching, and was widely used in transatlantic Free Church households.
