My New Curate is an 1899 novel by Canon Patrick Augustine Sheehan (1852-1913), the Irish parish priest of Doneraile whose fiction of Irish clerical and rural life won a wide readership at home and abroad. The book follows an aging parish priest and his energetic young curate through the small dramas of an Irish parish, with warmth, humour, and gentle pathos.
