Mya Rides Again picks up after the first book in M.L. Patterson’s series, with the same young puppy heading back out for another riding adventure. Where the first book was about trying something new, this one leans more into the courage to keep going after a setback.
The format is consistent. Short text, plenty of illustration, an early reader vocabulary, and a small but clear emotional arc that kids can follow.
Families who liked the first book will find this one familiar. Mya’s personality is consistent, the supporting animals show up again, and the lesson is delivered without being heavy-handed. Worth picking up if your child enjoyed the first one. On its own, it works fine but the original book sets up the world more clearly.
